If you’re an artist, creator or simply someone seeking quiet inspiration in Sicily, Casa Asmara offers a calm residency in the heart of a historic baroque town.

My dream is for Casa Asmara to be more than a place - to become a way of life, even for a short moment. I want everyone who comes here to feel the rhythm of everyday Sicilian life: to feel at home, connect with the community, taste the island’s richness and discover the beauty of simplicity. Sicily has a special charm - authentic, warm and deeply rooted in its own rhythm.

Art is my passion, a way of seeing the world. Every form of art - whether visual, performative, written or entirely your own - opens a new perspective. The Casa Asmara Art Residency is built on this idea: to capture Sicily through your eyes and transform your stay into a piece of work that reflects your time here.

About the Residency

Casa Asmara accommodates one to two people. The length of stay is flexible and agreed individually. Artists cover their travel and a one-time housekeeper fee of €40 + €10 per person.

The only requirement is to create a work - in any form - inspired by your residency in Scicli. This work then becomes part of Casa Asmara’s growing collection.

Catania is the nearest airport; the journey to Scicli takes about 1.5 hours by car, and the town is also reachable by bus or train. Scicli - a UNESCO site - offers baroque architecture, local culture and beaches just 12 minutes away.
